Bioko Drill

2 years, 7 months

While conducting research on the island of Bioko, I ran into a group of Drills (Mandrillus leucophaeus poensis) along a transect in the jungle. The group allowed me to sit with them as the foraged, groomed, and played with one another. This individual male was biting a tree while observing my behavior as I snapped photos. The Bioko Drills are an endangered subspecies only found on the southern part of the island.
