Farewell of the Flowers

There were a few frangipani trees (Plumeria) around the swimming pool of our hotel in Indonesia. There were hardly any leaves growing on them yet, but quite a lot of flowers, some of which were carried away by the breeze and gently floating on the water, as if saying goodbye to the shadow of the empty branches.

Yes this would have been a lovely photo of just the flowers floating in the blue water. But what I really, really love is your inclusion of the silhouette of the tree branches, and how you aligned it with the flower petals — this compositional decision now makes your frame visually more complex and interesting. Well done!
