Memory fades

A couple taking a selfie in the 'Shoes on the Danube Bank', a memorial in honor of the Jews killed in Budapest during World War II. After stripping them of their footwear and other valuables, they were tied in pairs. One of them was shot dead; then they threw both bodies into the river, and the person who was still breathing drowned. Just to save a bullet. Today the monument is a must stop for tourists and many photos are taken next to the sculpture, without knowing the history behind it.
