This photograph captures a perched hoatzin on a branch in Yasuni National Park in Ecuador. The small insects hovering in the air provide an example of the rich and vibrant life of the Ecuadorian Amazon. Even the smallest sample of the air does not lack visible life. This park and this part of the world is in great danger, due to oil exploration that has been approved by the president of Ecuador, despite a petition signed by a sufficient amount of Ecuadorian citizens.
