To become an Air Force Special Tactics operator, training consist of two years and has a 90% washout rate. Ben Joplin, a special operations weatherman from the Special Tactics Training Squadron, reemerges from the water during training at Hurlburt Field, Fla. Upon completion of the STTS, Airmen will go to special tactics squadrons, where soon they'll be attached to Special Operations Forces who can operate in any environment.
