We stopped the jeep at a waterhole to watch 3 spotted deer who were having an afternoon drink. After a short time our eagle-eyed guide noticed something moving in the long grass and whispered excitedly, 'tiger'... The tigress had managed to creep within 10 meters of the unsuspecting deer. We waited with bated breath, as she tip-toed closer and closer, occasionally raising her head to asses her quarry. After 20 minutes, she sprang from the grass at the deer who escaped by a matter of inches...
