Mexican Gray Wolf (Canis lupus baileyi)

This male Mexican Gray Wolf is a part of the captive species recovery program at Fossil Rim Wildlife Center. This species has recently been re-evaluated as endangered. This photo was taken as part of a behind the scenes tour of the captive breeding programs supported by the Wildlife Center and a sponsored wildlife photo workshop.
