Snowy Owl on Old Growth Sagebrush

3 years, 11 months

This photo was shot on a foggy day in North East Oregon near Umatilla, Oregon. The Snowy Owl flies South from their Arctic Homes in what is called Irruptions. They are very difficult to get a good photo of as they stay near the ground and usually fly off when you get within a hundred yards or so. This one flew over a small hill and I was able to approach from below, luckily for me it decided to land in this old dead sagebrush with a light fog in the background.
