Sea Nettle (Chrysaora)

4 years, 2 months

The Pacific sea nettle photographed at the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport, Oregon. Sea nettles are 95% water and lack a brain, bones, and gills. They propel themselves using jet propulsion squeezing water through their bells. The tentacles are used as a net to capture small fish and prey. They are common off the coast of Oregon.
