Manatee Pose

4 years, 3 months

West Indian manatee (Trichechus manatus) showing me an unusual upright pose at a Florida spring. Because the water temperature in the springs of Kings Bay (headwaters of Crystal River) remains a constant 72 f, manatees migrate here each winter from colder Gulf waters. Manatees are listed as Vulnerable by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
