Offerings to Pele

4 years, 4 months

Driving around the rim of Kilauea at Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park you mostly see a landscape of volcanic black and grey. Then every once in a while, you come upon these bright flashes of color which turn out to be offerings of flowers, fruits and shells to Pele, the Hawai'ian goddess of fire and volcanoes. It's nice to see this tradition continues.
