Foreboding Skies

4 years, 4 months

In August of 2013 I helped my Uncle, Don Thompson, who is a painter, to move his artwork from north of Seattle to his new home in Sante Fe. We loaded a 26 foot rental truck with all of his life’s work. It took me three days to drive across the Western high desert. The gravity of the trip, which was Don’s final move, took on special significance as the wide open landscape and foreboding skies seemed to reflect Don’s apprehension and uncertainty about the future.
