Merlin

4 years, 4 months

Meet Merlin, the only Tawny Frogmouth in all of New Zealand and is currently living at Wellington Zoo. He is currently 39 years old, so hes a grumpy old man considering the average lifespan in captivity for this species is around 18-20 years. The oldest recorded breeding pair of Tawny Frogmouths successfully fledged chicks at the age of 62 in captivity.
