The Pot Makers of Ambatolampy Series 1/5

4 years, 7 months

Ambatolampy lies 50km or so south of Antananarivo, Madagascar, and is known locally for its numerous aluminium foundries. Aluminium has a comparatively low melting point, and the raw material is abundantly available, making it ideal for recycling purposes. Everything, from engine parts to soft drink cans make their way to these small foundries where they’re turned into cooking wares.
