Peach and Pear, or not?

In the Netherlands specific treats are consumed around the feast of Saint Nicholas (Sinterklaas). Among these are figures made of marzipan (almond paste) that can be offered as presents. They can be cartoon figures, everyday objects, sausages, pigs and other animals. The fruit look-alikes are particularly convincing and almost too beautiful to eat.
