Two monks wait for their buddies on the stairs of a Tibetan Buddhist temple in Tibet. On the Tibetan Plateau, Buddhism and its messengers are as part of the land as the mountains and the rivers. Temples are painted a combination of white, red, and yellow, mirroring the regal colors used in palaces and temples in imperial capitals of the Chinese Dynasties.
