Giraffe at Sunrise

5 years, 10 months

Soon after leaving camp on a dawn safari we spotted a herd of giraffe on the plain to the east. The sun rose directly behind them as they walked toward us. One lined up perfectly with the sun. My challenge was to judge how much to underexpose the shot. The electronic viewfinder on my Panasonic Lumix made it possible to do this before the moment was lost.
