In recent years, sightings of the Monarch were few and far between. We were facing the extinction of this migratory butterfly because of human activities.Use of herbicide-resistant crops that destroy milkweed and nectaring habitat, deforestation in Mexico, severe weather and habitat loss. But the last couple years we are witnessing a come back with the population's efforts to grow milkweed, among other things. Together we can do great things!
