Nandia Domestica (‘Nanten’ in Japanese) is a species native to Eastern Asia. Its leaves, which turn to be reddish in winter, and its small red fruits are used as (inedible) garnishes of traditional Japanese cuisine, e.g., New Year's dishes. This summer, its small flowers were blooming quietly with hydrangea flowers. Taken at my little garden with Minolta-Sony 135mm F2.8(T4.5) STF lens.
