My little Rufous hummer friend was anticipating a mid-air bath as I was busy anticipating her every move (smile)! Photographing hummingbirds is always a matter of anticipating the moment as they move so rapidly and can repeatedly change directions in a fraction of a second. Hummingbirds actually can rotate their wings 360 degrees, hover in midair and even fly backwards!
