Layers in the Last Light

9 months, 2 weeks

Peggy grooms her horse Big Jake in the background of a scene inside a horse barn in Bolivar County, Mississippi. I took this shot as part of my ongoing project documenting African American cowboys and cowgirls in the rural Mississippi Delta.

This is stunning, Rory! The layers, the golden rays of light, the textures and leading lines through the barn are simply awesome. This moment is reminiscent to Renaissance painting in the way the elements all come together in on frame. Fabulous job!
