Mandaeism or Mandaeanism is a Gnostic religion.The religion has been practised primarily around the lower Karun, the Shatt-al-Arab waterway, part of southern Iraq and Khuzestan Province in Iran.The current population of them is between 60,000&70,000 people. The most important ceremonies in Mandaean worship is baptism.Baptism usually involves full immersion in flowing water. After emerging from the water, the worshipper is anointed with holy oil and partakes of a communion of bread and water.
