through the shutters

I took this picture in Kessab, Syria in the summer of 2008. Kessab is an Armenian village in the mountains close to the Syrian-Turkish border. I caught a glimpse of a distant church through those picturesque broken shutters. In Syria approximately 10% of the population are Christian.
