It Takes Two

1 year, 4 months

The difficult task of nesting takes team work and dedication. Least Terns are a great example of how effective working as a team can be. Both the male and female spend time sitting on the eggs, the relieved sitter is then off to catch a meal to bring back and it's sometimes repeated. The actual feeding happens very quickly so it can be challenging to capture. I use a telephoto lens to keep back from the nesting birds to avoid disturbing or distracting them from their important work.
