Childhood

1 year, 5 months

A fairly recent Thai immigrant to Chicago (the family has been here less than a year), Candy is the younger sibling of a classmate of my twin nieces and attended their birthday party at a trampoline jumping place today. I got lucky as she rested for a moment in the inflatable ball she had been rolling around in, the opening to the ball in just the right spot to catch the look of contentment on her face. The bright primary colors dominate in a space meant exclusively for children and express joy.
