Flying in a Dash 8 from Vancouver to Nanaimo, the view of the Georgia Straight was magnificent, and always takes my breath away. The bright green surrounding the land, seen here at the bottom of the frame is a plankton bloom, that attracts microscopic plants and animals, that attract the herring, that attract sea lions and humpback whales, that attract killer whales, showing that all life depend on the plankton bloom.
