A Moment of Compassion

1 year, 6 months

In the batey Arroyo Indio of the Dominican Republic I witnessed a young boy giving his thirsty friend a drink of his juice. In the bateyes people are very poor and lack basic needs. Being able to witness a moment of compassion between two children was life changing. Seeing that these boys who have next to nothing, no clean water, no money, poor living conditions and more, were willing to share a luxury like juice with one another really showed me the importance of community and compassion.
