Australian Black Shouldered Kite

This kite was part of a family who nested close to a well know birdwatching place inside the grounds of Werribee Water Treatment Plant. These grounds are home to many species of birds mainly due to the high level of nutrients in the water provide a boost the the surrounding eco system. This place has gone from being declared a wildlife sanctuary in the 1930s to a Ramsar- listed site in 1983.
