First Light of 2018

I spent the first sunrise of 2018 on the beach. I was in search of snowy owls on the 3-degree morning, but instead, I discovered the pure beauty of extreme cold! Strong winds blew sea smoke across the ocean. As the sun rose, it looked as if the ocean was on fire.
