The Roman Odeum at Alexandria

The Roman Amphitheatre (Odeum) in Alexandria is the only example of this type of monument extant in Egypt. Dating originally from the 2nd century AD, it was a roofed semi-circular theatre used for music and poetry performance on a stage paved with mosaic tiles. It contained seating for more than 600
