Mt. Whittier and Coldwater Valley

As my wife, two friends and I hiked along the "Lakes Trail" out from Coldwater Lake just north of Mount Saint Helens, we discovered this beautiful lost world. This whole valley was nothing but a wasteland after the 1980 eruption. Aside from the skeletons of trees peppered throughout, you would never know an eruption happened. Life has come back with such a force, quite breath taking.
