Stara Sušica Castle is a true historical jewel of Gorski kotar. It is located near Ravna Gora, 800 meters above sea level, in the pristine centuries-old forest of diverse flora and fauna. According to some sources, the Frankopans had a town in Stara Sušica in the Middle Ages, which even the Turks failed to conquer during the fierce breaks in 1586. The castle building, formerly a French city, is located on a mountain cliff, on the edge of a coniferous forest.
