Dead Tree Gallery - Yellowstone

2 years, 3 months

I would like to start out my Dead Tree Gallery with this shot. It was taken in 2012 around the corner and down the path from Old Faithful in Yellowstone. I have loved taking photos of dead trees for years. They are beautiful and strange at the same time with their twisting branch formations suspended in their last days of life. Trees in Yellowstone often die due to the volcanic activity coming up from below the tree roots and stealing their ability to live. But not their ability to inspire.
