During our stay at El Zota Biological Field Station, we saw macaws nearly every day. It was an unusual treat according to the locals. You would be able to hear them squawking about 15 seconds before they would appear over the tree line. They usual stayed pretty far away by this couple was daring enough to fly right overhead.
