My Best Photos of 2018
The prompt for this assignment is simple: share your best photos made between January 1 to December 31, 2018.
In 2018, Your Shot photographers have shared moments from the Yasukini Shrine in Tokyo (Takashi Furo) to summertime in Poland (Agnieszka Maruszczyk) to their fight against cancer (April Nocifora). Your Shot photographers shared images from Florida (Brandon Verdura) to Abu Dhabi (Neelima Azad) to a sailing adventure from Canada to Greenland (Ivan Kutasov). Because Your Shot is a global community of photographers representing 195 countries, your submissions to this assignment will share and archive the history of the world in 2018, one picture at a time. For example, think about what you were doing on March 22, 2018? Witness a variety of moments from the same day as seen through the eyes of Your Shot photographers Smita M., Richard Joseph Coughlin, Melissa Willaerts Bohorquez, Kelly Giardina, Joshua Masters, Esmaeil Sinaei, Satish Kumar Tripathy, Toni Minchev, and Takahiro Bessho. Your Shot is more than a photo platform, Your Shot is a community. Together we can do anything.
This assignment will be curated by Your Shot mentees Shannon Hunt ("Everyday Moments"), Rose Ungvari ("Superstitions Around the World"), and Sukanya De ("Opposites"). Make sure your notifications are turned on if you want to be alerted when we open the assignment to a fourth, and maybe even a fifth submission. Submission deadline is January 1, 2019 at 12PM EST.
Remember, you get 15 uploads per week, so take advantage. Upload your best photos taken in 2018 — 15 per week for a three-week assignment totals 45 potentially new photos to consider submitting to "My Best Photos of 2018." And because of the follow feed, you will be reflecting on the past year through the eyes of your favorite Your Shot photographers.
Photos previously selected for final stories in 2018 will be accepted for consideration. We’ll restart the “My Best Photos of (Month)” assignment starting in January 2019.
In the meantime, to get inspired, check out a gallery of the best images from this year — curated by the Your Shot team from thousands of photographers and over a million photographs.
